Manufacturers are you ready for the changes to EU Authorised Representatives

Companies placing goods which are UKCA or CE Marked, into the UK or EU you need to be ready for the new Regulation 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products. This Regulation comes into force on 16th July 2021 and aims to strengthen the requirements for market surveillance by Member States; however, there are also important implications for manufacturers and suppliers.

The Regulation introduces new requirements for ‘economic operator’s’ CE Marked goods will be prohibited from being placed on the EU market unless there is an economic operator established in the EU or his Authorized Representative holds a copy of the technical file and Declaration of Conformity and resides in the EU.


Companies placing these products on the UK market, must have an UK address or establish an Authorized Representative who holds a copy of the technical file and Declaration of Conformity and resides in the UK
